Site Suggestions

  1. Training is definitely a good idea.
  2. Establish guidelines for what information goes where.
  3. Establish style guidelines for font type, size and color so the site has a consistent look & feel.
  4. Establish rules as to the types of information that may be posted, or even better what should NOT be posted.
  5. The home page has too much information on it right now. I am sure that is simply an example of how the home page will be laid out, but we need to limit the information so people don't have to scroll.
  6. Let's launch the site with complete and accurate information on every page. I know there are some pages with incorrect or outdated information.
  7. Create a site roadmap that can be provided to parents so they know where to go to find the information they want/need.
  8. What happens when a day on the calendar has so many events they won't all fit in the space provided?

Provide definitions of each Group so that people know which (if any) Groups they should subscribe to.

Important Instructions for staff and various school organizations

Thank you for checking out this BETA version of the new website.  We are very excited about what this new "interactive" communications channel will bring to our school community.  I sent an email out earlier this morning, but here are some important instructions:

The first post in the "Groups"

Somebody had to take the plunge.  I would appreciate any feedback on the site.  Lesly brought up some good questions around access.  Anything else along those lines?

Follow us on Twitter and/or RSS!

You've probably heard the term "Web 2.0" these days referring to the Internet. Besides sounding catchy, this really refers to the "social networking" aspect of the Internet. MySpace and Facebook are some of the more well known social networking sites. Many of you are probably on LinkedIn, too. These sites allow people in "your network" contact you easily or just the opposite, find out what people in "your network" are up to. With the migration to this new website, we can now offer additional ways for you to keep up on updates. One of the more fun and up can coming websites, it Twitter. It is often referred to as a "micro-blog." People "follow you" on Twitter, and when you update your profile, those people following you see you updates in timeline fashion. They can even replied to your posts. ImagineIAM has a Twitter account:

If you are so inclined, you can choose to follow us on Twitter. Another option is RSS. On the furthest column on the right, you will see a block that is entitled "SYNDICATE." If you have an iGoogle page or a Google Reader account, you can subscribe to the "feed" and content from this website will be displayed in your reader page. Some email clients and web browsers will allow you to view and subscribe to RSS feeds. Feel free to comment and ask questions.
