IIAM Kindergartener to Participate in National American Miss Pageant
Alonah Watson, a kindergartener at Imagine IAM, is a natural leader who often displays dainty mannerisms along with a take charge attitude. Consequently, we are very proud that she will be representing Austell as a contestant in the National American Miss Pageant being held July 4th at the Westin Peachtree Plaza in Atlanta. We know that she has the talent and tenacity to represent her family, school, and region wonderfully. Alonah has our full support and we wish her the BEST!

Third Grade Class Corresponds with President Bush
After completing a social studies unit on state, city and national government, Mr. Duling's third graders wrote letters to President George Bush. The first response from President Bush's office (see photo below) was received after students returned from Intersession. This is an excellent example of the integration of language arts into other subject matters. Kudos to Mr. Duling and all of his students!

Second Grader Denia Carlton Exhibits Amazing Character
Second grade teacher Mrs. Debra Johnson returned from the Intersession break to learn that one of her students had taken a step that deserved much praise - she donated 12 inches of her hair to the "Locks of Love" foundation. After hearing an advertisement for the charity on the radio, Denia Carlton decided she wanted "another child that had lost their hair due to cancer or leukemia to have a beautiful head of hair to wear."
Denia is to be commended. This simple (yet significant) act demonstrates strong character, compassion for others and a desire to help those in need.
