Founding Committee
Please meet the Mableton residents who have dedicated time, talent and passion to making Imagine IAM a reality:
Nathalie Anderson -- Education/International Outreach Coordinator I am a ten-year resident of Mableton, a wife and a proud mother of two wonderful daughters, Emily and Sophia. I have been married to my husband, John, for 19 years after meeting him in Paris. I was a PTA president and remain an active PTA committee chairperson, as well as a Girl Scout troop leader. After many years as a travel consultant specializing in independent foreign travel, I changed careers to focus on education. I was a teacher assistant working with ESL students in a local public elementary school. I now teach French at a local private French school and help students of other languages master reading in English. I was educated in France and earned a degree in Tourism in Paris. During my education, I was able to study three foreign languages and challenge myself to practice them regularly. My love for different cultures and ways of life throughout the world motivates me to teach children to appreciate diversity and differences. I am looking forward to helping Imagine IAM become a school that embraces the changing world while preparing all children to experience the world with enthusiasm and confidence. Marlea Barr -- Marketing My husband and best friend, David, and I have been married for eleven years and have two energetic and busy girls. We transferred to Atlanta from Louisiana, but are natives of Mississippi. We have been living in the Atlanta area for 6 years, and have been residents of Mableton for over 4 years. I am a stay-at-home mom, and, fortunately, with over ten years of experience in graphic design, have spent the last 4 years working as a freelance designer from home while taking care of our children. I am excited to help with marketing and advertising for the International Academy of Mableton. Like so many parents, we want our children to have a good solid education. We also want them to be well rounded in many other aspects of life; physically, mentally and socially. I am grateful to the many other Founding Committee members and families who have given so much of themselves and their time. Amy Burton -- Public Relations and Marketing I am the mother of three beautiful children, Maia, Ava and Liam and the wife of 13 years to my wonderful husband, David. I hold a BA in Liberal Education with an additional year of graduate studies through which I obtained my elementary teaching credential in the state of California. After moving to Georgia, I became a social worker for the Head Start program and later taught Pre-K for two years before becoming a stay-at-home mom. My family and I happily settled in Mableton in 2001. Since that time we have been active members in this wonderful and ever growing community. I, too, share the same passion with so many of my fellow community members to further the excellence of education in Mableton. I believe that the International Academy of Mableton will do just that and I am so pleased to be a part of this vision. Jim Cavedo -- Land Acquisition, Facilities, and Finances I am a business consultant by trade and in that capacity I am focused on helping businesses improve their operating and financial processes and feel that my background and experiences in consulting along with starting my own company will help Imagine IAM fulfill its mission of improving the lives of our students. I have lived in Mableton for 9 years and in that time have helped create a grander sense of community by founding and serving as a president of the membership based Mableton Improvement Coalition, which looks at all aspects of our community and works to improve them by promoting community activism. My wife of 9 years, Kim, has a Master of Science degree in Education and spent many years as an educator of students with disabilities. We have two wonderful kids, Kyle and Camille, who look forward to attending Imagine IAM for their entire elementary and middle school years. Travis Granville -- Technology I have a wide background in business and Internet development. I am the President and co-founder of Atomic Fusion, an Atlanta interactive services firm founded in 1998. In this role, I am responsible for the direction and management of, as well as all technology initiatives for Atomic Fusion and their clients. I graduated from Bowling Green State University in Ohio, where I received a Bachelor of Arts in political science and a minor in business. I have been working diligently on the website development for Imagine IAM. I live in Mableton and am married to my wonderful wife, Paige. We have a young daughter who is looking forward to attending Imagine IAM! Stacey Glover - Land Acquisition and Transportation I am a long time area resident that attended Lindley Middle School and graduated from Pebblebrook High School in 1992. After attending Kennesaw State University, I became a Realtor in 2002. I am a part-time stay at home mom. I am happily married to my husband, Brian, who graduated from South Cobb High in 1991. We have two wonderful children, Hailey and Hayden. We are so grateful to be able to raise our children in the same community that we were raised, but with the opportunity for a better education! I am so excited to see the International Academy of Mableton to its fruition! Yoly Insinga -- Public Relations I am a wife and mother of two amazing boys, Vinny and Rock. I came to the United States as a young girl from Cuba and was raised in New Jersey, where I met my wonderful husband of twenty-one years, Tony. I studied Business and Finance in St. Petersburg, Florida, earned my Series 7 license, and worked as a stockbroker. I later decided to pursue a career in the health and beauty industry as an entrepreneur. After earning my licenses' as a massage therapist and clinical aesthetician, I established an S-corporation and was the sole proprietor of my own successful business for several years. I ran that business until I moved to Mableton in the summer of 2002. Since then, I have dedicated myself to my family and have acquired a tremendous passion for educating our children. It is for this reason that I am so honored and excited to have the opportunity to serve on this committee. Beth Lloyd -- Data Collection, Information and Nutrition My husband Jacob and I are the proud parents of two wonderful little learners, Annelise, and Lucas. We have lived in Mableton for 4 years. I graduated from Saint Mary's College in Indiana with a degree in Social Work, and have always been dedicated to volunteering in areas to improve the lives of children, particularly through education. Prior to having children, I worked in positions in the fitness industry and at a venture capital company. I am devoted to pursuing the best educational opportunities for all children, and I am thrilled to be a part of bringing the International Academy of Mableton to our community's students. Deidre Markham -- Fundraising I am the mother of two incredible children, Maggie and Noah. My husband, Joshua, is my best friend and biggest supporter. I have been very involved in our public school on the PTA and helped establish our first school council. I am a registered nurse in behavioral health, which is a job I cherish. I believe that a holistic approach is the best way to ensure the success of any individual. This is achieved by bringing together the physical and emotional aspects of health; respect for the self and others; and partnerships within the community that foster an appreciation for diversity. Christy R. McGrath -- Legal Issues My husband Rich and I are incredibly blessed to have our 2 daughters, Morgan and Jessica. We have called Mableton our home since we moved here in 2000. I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of North Florida and my Juris Doctorate from Florida State University College of Law. I am currently on inactive status with the Georgia Bar and the Florida Bar while I devote my time and energy to raising our girls. Education is one of my most important priorities in providing for our children and we are so grateful to have such a wonderful opportunity with the International Academy of Mableton. Linda Richardson -- Curriculum My husband, Norm, and I are proud parents of 3 children, Nick, Maria, and Noelle. We are also proud members of the Mableton community. I am an educator and the Curriculum Coordinator at their small private school, which is, unfortunately, located a distance from our home. I believe Imagine International Academy of Mableton is an important addition to the choices of education in our area. I am looking forward to the opportunity to send my children to a school with other neighborhood children while maintaining the intimate feel and high level of academics of their current school. It has been exciting for me to help develop the exceptional curriculum under the guidelines of the IB program for Imagine IAM. I am dedicated to my children's education and intend to continue as an active part of their school environment. Cathy Talley -- Fundraising I am the mother of three wonderful children Connor, Caitlyn, and Charlotte. Jim is my best friend and partner and we have been married for 11 years. Our family moved to Mableton in 2003 and has enjoyed becoming an active part of this great community. I currently stay at home with my children and work part-time as a project manager for Specifics, Inc. a research company based in Atlanta. I consider myself a passionate and involved parent and feel that Imagine IAM will provide my children with the education that they need to handle the challenges they will face in their lives. I am thrilled with the opportunity to assist the Foundation and help lay the groundwork for our fundraising efforts. Jason Van Note -- Land Acquisition I am new to the Mableton Community, but have been a resident of Cobb County for over 20 years. I am the proud father of three small children and have been married to my lovely wife Becky for almost 10 years. I attended Marietta City Schools from the grades 4-12, and graduated from Marietta High School in 1992. I also attended Kennesaw State University. I am currently employed with Worldspan as a Network Engineer. I am active in community activities and charities. Tracy Voss -- Public Relations and Marketing I have been a resident of Mableton since 2003. My husband Jon and I are the proud parents of one amazing son, Ethan. I am blessed with 3 beautiful children; Autumn, Meadow, and Skye. I consider their education to be one of my most significant responsibilities as a parent. Before staying home full time with my family, I dedicated my life to the families of children's hospitals in New York City and Atlanta (including 6 years at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta). I have a BS in Child Life Psychology and was certified as a Child Life Specialist in 1996. In this role I educated children and families about illness, injury and hospitalization and helped them develop ways to cope with such life changing events. I am passionate about education because it empowers individuals with the skills and the open mind necessary to become a significant contributor of this ever-changing world. I look forward to the International Academy of Mableton becoming an important part of the improvement of education for all the children in our area and eventually beyond. Lynn Wilhelm -- Public Relations and Marketing I have been married to my wonderful and supportive husband, Rich, for six years and we have a one daughter. Madeline has had such a positive impact on my life and I am thrilled to be able to play a role in her future education. We moved to Mableton in 2000 and I am so thankful to be a part of a community of such hard working, dedicated people! I received a BA in finance from Southern Methodist University and came to Atlanta 12 years ago to work for GE Capital. Before I became a stay-at-home mom, I was the Finance Manager at ABC Radio for eight years. I believe that education is vital to the well-being and success of our children. The IB Program offered by the International Academy of Mableton will create an incredible opportunity for the development of each student as an individual.
