School Advisory Council

Welcome to the School Advisory Council (SAC) page. Here you will find the latest news coming from the SAC as well as information on how to contact the SAC.

The following letter from Ellecia Douglas, Chair of the SAC, was sent to parents via a NewsFlash on May 2, 2008.

The School Advisory Council (SAC) is hard at work to determine how best to function as an entity based on our role as defined by our Charter and mission statement.

The SAC mission is as follows:

The School Advisory Council (SAC) is a group of parents, school leaders, teachers and community members working together to give parents a voice in the operations of the school. Our function is to provide advice to the school leadership, surface compliments and concerns from parents, and communicate with and mobilize the school community. We will also make recommendations and/or provide key information to the Governing Board of Managers.

Our primary areas of focus are: volunteer needs, issues regarding the educational program, and/or the school atmosphere and culture. We will also provide the school's leadership with advice on fundraising for the school.

SAC Mailbox: Provide Your Feedback

If you have questions, concerns, or comments that you would like the administration or Governing Board of Managers to address, please contact us at schooladvisorycouncil@iamableton.org. The SAC mailbox has been created as a communication vehicle specifically for parents to voice their questions, issues and concerns and to establish an efficient communication channel between the school administration, the parents and The Governing Board.
